Well, it is official. Little Adyson is now five months old (as of January 30)! I cant even believe that it has been five months since she was born. Time is going by so quickly. She is probably one of the funniest people I know, and she is definately the cutest. She has mastered rolling from her tummy to her back, and now she is working on rolling from her back to her tummy. She can do it every once in a while. She likes to BOUNCE in her bouncy chair as hard as she can, and she loves to pet the cat "izzi" and get kisses from her puppy Charlie. One of the funniest things to her is when Scott says "KaBLAM-oh!" to her. I dont know why, but she just cracks up at him. WHich then cracks me up. All-in-all, she is an absolute joy, and every day she learns new sounds and tricks. What a sweet girl. Below is a picture of our pets: Izzi and Charlie. I can see why she laughs at them. They are goofy pets.
I want to share a funny story from the other day with you all. Some of you may have heard this, but it is worth sharing. For some reason, whenever I am at a store or really anywhere in public, elderly people are always drawn to me. If they need help finding butter or pie crusts at the store or help picking a card... or maybe even just finding someone to tell a random story to- I am their girl. I have accepted these unique encounters as random blessings in my life to keep me humble and smiling.
The other day I was at the grocery store scrambling to get all of the things I needed as quickly as I possibly could. I finally got into the long checkout line when I recieved a call from my hubby asking if I could get him some contact solution. "Not a problem!" I assured him. I was just glad he had caught me before I was out of the grocery store! I quickly stopped unloading my cart halfway through and promised the checkout lady that I would be back in just one minute. She was still helping the lady in front of me, so I thought I had plenty of time. I pushed the cart (Adyson was sleeping in there) as fast as I could to aisle 5 where the contact solution was.
Keep in mind that this was the middle of the afternoon, and one of the assisted livings in the area had dropped off an entire bus-load of people to go grocery shopping. I quickly grabbed the kind of contact solution I needed-in record time, mind you- and I started to go back down the aisle to hurry to the cashier. Well, there just happened to be an elderly couple in the aisle in front of me blocking the way out. I calmly asked the couple if they would mind me sneaking by. No response. I raised my voice a little louder and asked again. "Excuse me, do you mind if I sneak by you. I am kindof in a hurry to get back to the checkout line." Again, no response. They were completely enthrawled in picking out some fiber. *sigh* I moved a little closer and increased the decibels in my voice just a few more notches (from talking loud in a crowded coffee shop to talking to my best friend at a rock concert), this time hoping that they would be able to hear me.
Finally, the man turned around and said, "Oh, honey, are we in your way? Excuse us! You should have just said something." I just smiled and told him that he was probably right. I then hurried back to the line as quickly as I could. Sure enough, 2 people had gotten all checked out in that "minute" I was gone. It was quite embarassing, but very funny too. I guess next time I will just have to ram them down with my grocery cart. Did you just laugh at that? You sick people. I would never do that. I'll just have to start carrying a microphone with me so that people can hear me better. Haha! That would be cool.
